We practice because we believe that investing in good design supports and enriches people’s lives.

Our design process focuses on simple, practical and creative solutions in response to our clients aspirations. Developing the brief and understanding the physical, social and economic context of a project forms the basis of our design solutions.

We are passionate about craftsmanship, attention to detail and working with materials to achieve long lasting quality.

It is our ambition to work with people who share a passion for creating something unique and fulfilling their ambition on challenging projects.

We create well considered architecture that is beautiful, simple and appropriate.

Mills + McCullough Architects are a design focused architectural practice based in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Both principals have worked for some of the top UK architectural design practices – Stanton Williams and Reiach and Hall Architects.

The variety and quality of project experience gained demonstrates our direct understanding of what it takes to create and deliver high quality, award-winning architecture of varying scales and type.  Projects of note include the Sainsbury Laboratory the winner of the 2012 Stirling Prize and the Ceramics Galleries at the V&A Museum, National Centre Inverclyde, to name a small selection.

The practice was founded to apply our knowledge and experience in combination with a collaborative design process with our clients to realise their ambitions regardless of the project’s scale or context.

The practice has already been recognised by the Architects Journal as an ‘emerging name’ following the practice being shortlisted for the RIBA International Design Competition to reimagine York’s Guildhall complex and was awarded 2nd place overall.
