Greenhouse Restaurant

The project tackles the challenge of creating a sustainable place to grow and enjoy food in harsh climatic conditions.

 

Our proposal for a greenhouse restaurant in Iceland's Mývatn region offers a distinctive experience—a thriving oasis within in an unforgiving landscape. The building offers uninterrupted panoramic views across a black lava desert terrain.

 

The spatial organisation and circulation adapts with the undulating site terrain. The building programme is arranged around a series of courtyards that frame the volcanic scenery, creating a contrast against the structured interior. This interplay enhances the experience of the building as a path within the natural landscape.
