Niddrie Community Church

Building Hope, Housing Grace

An ambitious, one-of-a-kind mixed-use project in the heart of Niddrie, Edinburgh. We’re working with Niddrie Community Church (NCC) to create a contemporary, sustainable space that brings together upgraded church facilities, flexible areas for community use, and supported housing - all designed to meet real local needs. More than a building, it’s a bold vision for a place where faith, community, and everyday life can thrive.

Niddrie is a diverse and resilient community facing real social and economic challenges. The existing church building, while central to local life, no longer meets the needs of the people it serves - lacking flexibility, energy efficiency, accessibility, and connection between spaces. At the same time, demand for affordable and supported housing continues to rise.

This project addresses those challenges through high-quality, community-led design. In close partnership with NCC and local stakeholders, we’re creating a new civic landmark that reflects the ambition of our Client, welcomes everyone and becomes a building that residents are proud of.

The new space will bring together:
A flexible church for worship and community use
Café - a shared ‘living room’ for all
Learning, support, and training spaces
Affordable, supported housing

At its heart, this is place-making: not just a new building, but a sustainable future for Niddrie.
